Who Made The Complete Travel Developer Course?
My name is Phil Manning and I’m a self-taught, full-stack developer, designer, and small-business consultant. I went to undergrad at Elon University studying Business Administration with a concentration in Entrepreneurship, and minoring in Computer Science and Philosophy. After graduating at Elon, I went back to my hometown in New Jersey worked various side gigs as I went to General Assembly’s inaugural code immersion course — Programming Fundamentals with Ruby on Rails. I then continued my studies online with various courses in a wide range of topics from Search Engine Optimization and Mobile Design to Body Language and Lie Detection.
During this time I started my own freelance business, doodDevelopments, and continued to work early/late jobs bartending and slanging coffees as a barista. After saving up a bit of money and Hurricane Sandy destroying the beachside bar I worked at, I decided to take a chance with my freelance skills and travel — it ended up being the best year of my life.
Over the past 4 years, I have worked with 30+ businesses creating websites and iOS applications while also providing business consultant services from SEO and digital marketing to strategy and pricing. I have gained a unique perspective having worked with boutique hotels in Costa Rica, to the fastest growing e-commerce website in the world — Jet.com.
I’m encompassing all of the knowledge I’ve gained from my experiences including my college education, taking online courses, teaching myself how to code, working at one of the top tech companies in the world, and traveling the world while running my own freelance business — all into this course.
