Since I’m already making my entire blog on Medium why not put everything here. It just looks better anyway, right? Product launches usually happen on either Medium or Product Hunt, so I’ve decided to put the TravelDeveloper media kit here as well. Hopefully, it provides some insight into my latest and most ambitious project yet. Thanks for clicking through to learn about The Complete Travel Developer Course, and I’d love to hear what you think. (Please send emails to email@example.com)

So What is The Complete Travel Developer Course?
The key benefit to being a freelancer is having the flexibility to work whenever and wherever you’d like. People often chose this lifestyle to work at home comfy in their pajamas, take care of kids or do their favorite hobby during the day and work at night, or possibly because they simply hate working with shoes and a t-shirt on (guilty as charged😝). The boom in communication software and online work marketplaces has made freelancing in a number of industries as easy as it’s been in the history of the world.
With the ease of location-independent work, a few people have learned to take this lifestyle to the highest level — the term ‘Digital Nomad’ has become a popular word to define this lifestyle. Quite literally it means people live nomadically without a true ‘home’ traveling freely across the globe, working wherever they can get a solid internet connection.
While Digital Nomads span across many different industries, one of the most popular are web designers and developers.
Enter — The Complete Travel Developer Course — a complete web design, development, and freelance startup course taught by a self-taught designer, developer, and nomadic freelance entrepreneur.
The Complete Travel Developer Course covers everything you need to know to become a location-independent web developer. The course includes everything from web development basics, to learning the most popular design tool — Sketch, and upselling services with SEO. Students will also learn freelance business skills such as perfecting the cold-email, managing multiple clients, and streamlining their billing and finances. All of these lessons are taught using software and skills that can be used anywhere in the world.
I wanted to create a course that gave people all the necessary skills to be able to work and travel around the world. The plunge into the digital nomadic lifestyle can be intimidating with so many unknowns. I hope with some confidence in mobile work skills and practical freelance expertise more people will realize their potential to chase their location-independent work dreams.
I also know there are students who already have specific skills and are looking to travel and work, while on the other hand, there are students who travel nomadically and are looking for a way to bring in a more sustainable income. Therefore, I’ve structured the course into easily digestible, bit-sized sections depending on students specific needs. Even after the course is finished, students can continually use the course as a reference guide to fine tune their skills.

Who Made The Complete Travel Developer Course?
My name is Phil Manning and I’m a self-taught, full-stack developer, designer, and small-business consultant. I went to undergrad at Elon University studying Business Administration with a concentration in Entrepreneurship, and minoring in Computer Science and Philosophy. After graduating at Elon, I went back to my hometown in New Jersey worked various side gigs as I went to General Assembly’s inaugural code immersion course — Programming Fundamentals with Ruby on Rails. I then continued my studies online with various courses in a wide range of topics from Search Engine Optimization and Mobile Design to Body Language and Lie Detection.
During this time I started my own freelance business, doodDevelopments, and continued to work early/late jobs bartending and slanging coffees as a barista. After saving up a bit of money and Hurricane Sandy destroying the beachside bar I worked at, I decided to take a chance with my freelance skills and travel — it ended up being the best year of my life.
Over the past 4 years, I have worked with 30+ businesses creating websites and iOS applications while also providing business consultant services from SEO and digital marketing to strategy and pricing. I have gained a unique perspective having worked with boutique hotels in Costa Rica, to the fastest growing e-commerce website in the world — Jet.com.
I’m encompassing all of the knowledge I’ve gained from my experiences including my college education, taking online courses, teaching myself how to code, working at one of the top tech companies in the world, and traveling the world while running my own freelance business — all into this course. Anyone taking this course will undoubtedly gain the knowledge to travel and work as a digital nomad whether it be for a short-term gap year or long-term lifestyle change. I’d love for you to become a part of the community.
